GVDŠ LANGUAGE

With our SS23 Collection, GVDŠ remains committed to building on our brand's signature design language and silhouettes. As a young brand, we take pride in showcasing a unique perspective on design in Africa. Our Creative Director, Muktar Onifade, draws inspiration from his engineering background, paying tribute to the craftsmanship and technical discipline that are essential to solving complex engineering problems. By blending these two perspectives, we hope to create a distinctive style that sets GVDŠ apart and resonates with our customers.

“Our latest Collection pays tribute to the intricate craftsmanship and hand-beading traditions found in the streets of Lagos, Nigeria. We have incorporated a range of beautiful materials, including pearls, rice and sand beads, and tacking stones, which have been expertly hand-beaded onto our Asymmetric Cutout Shirt and Embroidered Leather Pants. Additionally, our Concave Silhouette Jackets and Heavy 100% Cotton Jersey Tee feature the GVDS logo, handwritten and beaded with silver metallic rice and sand beads.”

As you browse through our Collection, you'll quickly notice a recurring design theme that runs through many of the pieces. This theme is characterized by a range of design elements, including the tailored suit's asymmetric cutout deconstruction and the double overlay concave silhouette in our tailored pants and outerwear jacket. The same concave silhouette is also featured in our technical shirt and calfskin tote handbag, where it appears as a 7mm embossed line across both sides of the bag. By using this cohesive design language across our Collection, we hope to create a strong connection with the GVDŠ brand that our customers will appreciate and enjoy.

Our SS23 Collection features the heavy industrial custom GVDŠ zipper hardware with metal #10 zipper teeth prominently displayed on both our tailored outerwear and essential pieces. These zippers can be seen on the sleeves of tailored garments, as well as on the concave cutout dress shirt, which is made from heavy wool and super fine linen materials.

JEWELRY

In addition to our clothing offerings, we are also excited to introduce new ranges and options in our Adinka symbols jewelry collection. Our 925 silver power/wealth earrings feature a metal pearl covered in 5A CZ stones, while our classic GVDŠ symbol chain is filled with multi-color enamel and offered in Swarovski and moissanite diamonds. We've also reimagined our classic freshwater pearls by creating all-silver metal stone pearls, which are available in both 925 silver and 18k coated gold.
